Dear Students:

This month's round of membership teleconferences have two exciting
opportunities in store.

First, are you an officer in your state student division or an active member
of your division? Are you interested in joining NABS in a collaborative
effort to utilize public relations strategies to maximize your recruitment
and retention? Do you believe that with adequate training you could use
public relations to increase funding for your division? If so, please make
a point to join Sunday's teleconference.

In an effort to solidify the role of the NABS Communications team, we are
dedicating this round to the development of a strategic communications plan
that will benefit the division both at the state and national levels. We
want to implement goals and objectives that are going to maximize the depth
and scope of our outreach, but we want to launch these campaigns with a
unified message that is inclusive of our active state student divisions.
Topics for discussion include, but are certainly not limited to:

* Developing an effective mission statement

* Identifying and cultivating strategic community partnerships to advance
your mission

* Learning how to use good communication to increase funding

* Generating membership directories and interactive databases to facilitate
communication between board members, between board and state affiliate and
between board and the general membership

These are only a few of the priorities of the Communications team. We know
that NABS is an exciting and effective organization, but now we are taking
greater steps to ensure this reputation is well-established in the general
public. If you care to spend some time with a fun and creative team, please
use the access information below to join us:

Date: Sunday, March 2

Time: 9:00 PM Eastern, 6:00 PM Pacific

Dial-In Number: 712-775-7100

Access Code: 257963

Second, have you ever wondered how you can put together the most compelling
NFB scholarship application? Are you curious about what the experience will
be like in Dallas if you are selected as one of the finalists? Would you
like to receive thoughts and ideas directly from successful candidates in
the past? The teleconference for you is scheduled for Wednesday.

Join us for a rare opportunity to pose questions directly to our scholarship
chair, Anil Lewis. In addition to his newly appointed role as scholarship
chair, Mr. Lewis is president of the Georgia state affiliate and serves on
our national board of directors. He is an engaging and distinguished member
of our organization, and we are grateful for his willingness to take the
time to speak to prospective candidates about the application process.
Moreover, Mr. Lewis will be able to speak to his experiences as a Jernigan
Scholarship recipient in 2002.

Next, we look forward to having Mr. Chris Booher from Texas. Mr. Booher has
served on the board of the Texas student division and has recently obtained
his Master's in business administration. Most importantly, like Mr. Lewis,
he was the recipient of the Jernigan scholarship in 2006, the highest honor
bestowed upon one deserving finalist in each scholarship class.

Two excellent individuals are prepared to field your questions from the
applicant prospective to the prospective of the committee chair. For
persons interested in applying to the program, this teleconference is an
absolute must in your list of things to do in your preparation. Here is the
information:

Date: Wednesday, March 5

Time: 9:00 PM Eastern, 6:00 PM Pacific

Two very exciting opportunities, two teleconferences guaranteed to be an
excellent time investment.

For questions about the membership committee and future teleconferences,
please contact co-chairs, Terri Rupp and Arielle Silverman. We appreciate
your attention and look forward to having you at one or both of these
wonderful opportunities.

Sincerely,

The Communications Team
