[Rehab] Seeking Anything that Documents the TVI/TBS Work Environment, including Presence of Colleagues

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to ask if anyone knows of any literature, and it could be blogs, magazine articles, scholarly research articles, or anything else that I can cite in a paper, that describes how TVI/TBS jobs are laid out.

I think that I know from my experience with the field that there are a few different kinds of job environments, which could be broken down into something like this:

  1. Jobs where the TBS is the only blindness professional in their entire school but works for only that school
  2. Jobs where the TBS is the only blindness professional in their entire school district and covers multiple schools in the district
  3. Jobs where the TBS is working as part of a team of teachers for a single school so that they have other colleagues who are blindness professionals
  4. Jobs where the TBS is working as part of a team that is employed by a district, everyone works at their own school and stays there but everyone still has colleagues through the district who are blindness professionals
  5. Jobs where the TBS is employed by a state blindness agency and then moves around, as an itinerant teacher, serving multiple students at multiple schools, and the TBS still has colleagues through their employer who are blindness professionals
  6. Same as #5 but through a private contractor
  7. Jobs at schools for the blind where there are tons of blindness professionals so there are many colleagues

I'm just making up these examples. I don't know of a good place where they are written. I have a few ideas of articles that I'm scouring, but it would be great if anyone here could share any links or articles that they have.

Additionally, I know that we often seek community through lists like this one, and I would love it if anyone could share links or articles that talk about how TBS and other Structured Discovery professionals seek community through mailing lists, social media, or the NFB.

Thanks in advance!

Justin
