----- Original Message ----- Dear Pam,
On the top edge of the Reader, where the plug in jack for the ear phones is,
there is a small button, about half way across. Feel for it and press and
hold it down and you will feel it vibrate. The screen will light up and in
a few seconds you will hear the start up music and then an announcement that
tells you the unit is on.
You turn it off using the same button by just pressing it and it will say
something like "Power off."
There was a duel pack with two CD's and one of them is a learning tutorial
that will walk you step by step threw the basics.
On the side , with all of the buttons., there is a raised box shaped part.
this is a 5 way key.
Enter is in the middle of the box and each of the raised bars on the sides
of the box act as arrow keys.
Just to the left of the box is a flat button that selects and there is
another flat button just to the right just above another raised button.
Press the flat button on the right to turn on the reader and also turn it
off or put it in the off line mode.
The flat button on the left turns on, or selects the "Talks" mode.
Just follow the CD and you will be running the reader in 20 minutes.
I hope this helps.
