That was one's person experience and truth. There are many other experiences and truths. There bad experience was interestingly still a blend of good and bad. They hated a very bad service experience but spoke very well of how effectively they could use their classic.
My experience is entirely with my KNFB Mobile. In the first week of my untrained hand it was a mixed bag of success and over-long processing times as it struggled to work my picture into text. I took pictures of everything and everywhere to get this test and experience into full swing. Within one week my understanding of how and where to hold it for reading improved dramatically and so did my results of quality and quicker reading by the Reader. I haven't taken any extensive interest in the lighting and while I understand some fonts are going to have a tricky letter or two, the device is readily giving me sufficient information from the more typical fonts on most things that I'm having little difficulty in gleaning useful information from the RReader.
I expect my own skills to improve further and the results to get better but at day one the results were already good enough to consider my unit a very well worthy tool.
I purchased from Handy Tech US and found them fantastic in responsiveness on all fronts. Their support and customer care has been outstanding by web accounts and I'm fantastically pleased at my decision to be a KNFB Mobile purchaser and more importantly user.
Be Well,
Randy
