Jonathan and all:
We use "always on" as the default flash setting, since this is the best
setting for good results when reading standard documents. Off is best for
computer screens. We do have the auto setting but generally don't recommend
it. Someone who is blind and can't see the ambient lighting would not have
a way of knowing if the conditions are ok, and if the flash does not operate
the results may be very poor for no apparent reason.
Thanks, J. G.

Subject: [Reader-users] The Flash Settings
Hi everyone,
I'm curious about the three flash settings. Obviously on and off are pretty
self-explanatory, and I find that if I want to read computer screens, off
works really well. But how does auto work? I would have thought that auto
might be the best default setting, but the default is for flash to be always
on. Is there a reason for this?
Thanks,
Jonathan
