Deane, you should be absolutely certain that you are taking pictures against a plain background without any pattern whatsoever. I would also suspect that one or both of your polarizers might have been moved. have someone who can see compare their alignment with the pictures in the polarizer envelope, which should have been part of your product package. the polarizers are most likely the problem.

Hi,
My reader has been working great for the week I have owned
it. However, I'm now having a problem where I hear the camera sort
of click open like you can if you listen carefully and when I try and
get a field of view report or take an actual picture it tries for
quite a few seconds. I can hear the camera making its noise to
prepare, but then the reader says picture cancelled, please make sure
the camera cover is open, or similar wording. I know it i and closed
it and opened it to make sure, this the reader reported correctly so
it is open. Now sometimes it says cannot focus try taking picture
again again and sometimes it will work. This is very new and I'm
hoping someone else has had this problem.
