[Reader-users] Ray Kurzweil and the National Federation ofthe Blind to Announce Groundbreaking New Product

HI Jim,

Besides the s[panish, which I could care less about, is there anything else
the mobile reader will do that my reader, which is now considered the
classic reader, will not do? I mean in the aspect of the reader, itself, as
I know my reader could not act as a cell phone ilke that one will be able to
do, but I am just talking about the reader software, itself. Thanks.

Have a blessed day,

Nicki

Hi Alco:

I absolutely agree with what you say. The Reader you have is not being
thrown overboard for the Mobile Reader we will announce. Of that much you
can be certain.

Thanks, J. G.

I am so glad to hear this, Mr. Gashel. I was hoping we wouldn't be left in
the dust with a fossil. I use my reader and very much appreciate it. It
will depend on what new features the Mobile has that I might need. If I
don't need them, then it makes perfect sense to stick with what I have.

Thanks for letting us know that.

Alco

Hi James:

Concerning your existing reader, you can be absolutely certain that K-NFB
Reading Technology remains fully committed to supporting your investment.
The Reader you have continues to be an outstanding product, and we want to
be certain that you will continue to get full value out of it.

Concerning our new Mobile Reader Product line, we will have more to say
about that on Monday, January 28. However, Ray Kurzweil has said all along
that our policy will be to offer people who have the Kurzweil-National
Federation of the Blind Reader a very favorable upgrade path. I truly
believe you will be pleased and impressed by the approach we will take on
this. However, there is no requirement whatsoever to upgrade. The Reader
you have performs very very well. As long as it meets your needs, there
will be no reason whatsoever to upgrade. If you like the new features and
functionality we can now offer with the Mobile Reader products, then you may
be among those who might want to follow the upgrade path. In either case,
you can be certain you will have a Reader we support.

Thanks, J. G.

Hi,

This is all well and good but what will happen to those of us who have had
our readers for less than a year? Are we stuck with what we have or is this
product designed to do something different?

I hope this is the case because this stuff is expensive enough for us to not
have to upgrade it every five minutes <grin>

Best
