[Reader-users] help re-calibrating reader?

I really don't want to sound uncaring about this problem. But, I really
believe that the potential need to recalibrate the Reader (the first
Readers) was a very minor issue. It is mentioned in the manual and clear
instructions are given about recalibrating. It also does say that sighted
assistance will be needed. Also, if proper care is given to the Reader and
it's kept plugged in, or used enough so you know when it needs to be
charged, calibration shouldn't be necessary. I've had my Reader for a year
and eight months and have never had to have it recalibrated.

Dave;
First of all, why didn't they tell us about this recalibration problem
when we bought the machine. I am really shocked they would make a
machine for the blind that we can not recalibrate ourselves. A reset
could have been created like in the Humanware devices, so we could
recalibrate the unit ourselves. It took me for ever to find someone who
I could trust and match them up with someone to give them instructions
on the calibration procedure. I now keep my unit plugged in when ever
not in use.
