[Reader-users] Determining When To Charge and Avoiding Overcharging The camera

Last night I was reading and the camera kept turning on and off. I also
took a few pictures and got an error message indicating that the camera was
being reset. I determined that the camera was properly connected, and
decided it must be time to recharge the camera.
This morning I remembered with a slight shudder that I had forgotten to
unplug the camera charger last night. I recall reading in the manual that,
while the PDA cannot be overcharged, the camera can be, and so shouldn't be
allowed to charge for more than two hours.

My camera was plugged in for at least twelve hours. I'm hoping I haven't
done any damage to it. Is an occasional overcharge going to do permanent
damage? I will certainly try to be more careful. I have tried to be
careful of this matter; and this is the first time I know I really goofed.

While I'm on the subject, when a camera eventually needs replacement, can a
particular off-the-shelf model be purchased or must it be purchased directly
through KNFB?

Thanks as always in advance, and Happy New Year to all.
