The time from taking the picture to the beginning of reading is around 15 to
20 seconds. The newly designed software actually will start reading at the
beginning of a page before the system is finished processing the entire
thing. This is done because the processing speed of the phone is slower
than the classic. Because of this change in design the mobile reader can
start reading faster than the classic.

Dear Carl,

How long does it take for a picture to be processed with the new cell phone
reader?

Thanks,

Kathy

First, everything is contained in the cell phone. This entire unit is 4.5
inches tall, 2 inches wide and 1/2 inches thick. It weighs 4 ounces. The
camera and cell phone features can be used the same way they would be if the
reader software wasn't present. This means there is only one battery as
well. The reader software is operated with the keys on the cell phone.

As far as cell plans I really have no information about this. You can make
your decisions in stages if you want. You can buy the reader first and use
it only for a reader, then later when you are ready add the cell service.
As this is a GSM phone the only networks supporting it are AT&T and
T-mobile. So far as I know neither of these companies sell this phone but
the ones I sell are unlocked so they can be activated by simply adding a SIM
card from either carrier.

For more information on plans go to

www.att.com or www.tmobile.com

The total price of the reader is $2,195.00 which includes the phone, KNFB
reader software, and installation and configuration. $600.00 of the above
price is the phone. If you find the phone elsewhere at a better price you
can purchase it but you will have to send it to me to be configured and to
have the polarizers installed. There is a $50.00 charge for this service.
This way you would pay $1,595.00 for the software and $50.00 for the
installation.

HTH.

I have 2 big questions. Is the camera the same camera that you would use if
you had a camera cell phone, I mean, is it built into the cell phone? Do
you operate it with the keys of the cell phone? If both are correct, then
there is no attatchment to the cell phone. Everything is inclusive with in
the cell phone?
Can anyone give the costs of the company plans or their links to resurch the
costs. I want the lowest costing plan I can find. I want it for limited
calling, not for chatting. I am thinking of converting to the reader this
year and upgrading to a cell phone next year.

I wasn't a beta tester but I am a dealer and have had my reader for about a
week. It is really working well. I find myself using it more often than my
classic simply because it's always there as I always have my phone.

Other than the beta testers, has anyone either traded their Classic in or
bought the new N82 reader outright? how is it working?

thanks
