[Reader-users] camera, pictures and functionality

You can still use the camera to take pictures of scenes and people. The
lighting might be just a bit reduced because of the polarizers, but it
really does work very well especially for close-ups.

The Reader is not designed to read street signs, but some people have
reported good results reading posters where the printing is not too large.

There is absolutely no conflict between Mobile Speak and the Reader. Both
run on the phone together and do not slow anything down.

Thanks, J. G.

You took the words right out of my mouth, if I had just read on.

I have some additional questions about the camera on the N82 -- with the

polarizers attached, can a person take a normal picture -- I.e. a shot
of
some friends or landscape -- through the polarizers? Do the polarizers
reduce the range of the camera? Will a person be able to walk around
and
shoot a picture of a traffic sign and get a reading? Is there a problem

using the reader software and mobilespeak or talks on the same phone?
Mobilespeak for one has many hotkeys that might conflict with the
reader.
Since the reader does OCR like the screen readers, is knfb planning to
move
into that market and make an access product that does both the screen
reading of talks/mobilespeak and also the picture analysis?
Cheers.
