[Reader-users] Multi page format

Hello Dean and list,

I actually have multipage format set as my default. (I find it easier to
simply press the 6 key if I want a second page to be another document.)

I have found that any unassigned number key will take the reader out of
reading mode. You only need to press the star key once if the machine isn't
in the process of reading. You may want to get in the habbit of pressing
enter to stop the reading, verifying there are no processing beeps, and then
pressing star once. Otherwise, you risk having the reader cancel processing
that might not have been completed. (Note that reading often does begin
before processing has been completed.) Finally: note that pressing the left
or right arrow after pressing star will return you to reading mode if there
is text to be read.

I agree that the above is not documented well, having discovered it myself
through experimentation.

Bill

Subject: [Reader-users] Multi page format

Hi,
After listening to reviews online and following threads on this list,
I found multi page format reading doesn't seem that popular so ended
up with a few questions when my dealer came to train me with my
reader the other day. Thanks to them, they found a solution for me
to a problem which may or may not have been discussed.

The manual says that I can take a picture and once it starts to read
press down again to take another. however this isn't the case as the
reader is still in reading mode. Instead you have to press * twice
and then take another picture and the next page will be on page 2, 3,
4 etc. For me this is a crucial part of the reader and it seems to
be mis-documented but no one has mentioned it on here and I've been
on the list for a few weeks now.

At least now its obvious why people have glossed over multi page
format in the presentations I've heard!

Dean
