[Reader-users] The upgrade

I think, if I can get the money together, I might be looking at the upgrade.
Here are my two questions. Number one, am I correct in the information that
I have in that the upgrade price is available until the end of July? Now,
here is my other question. Can I get the update and do the trade-in
directly from the NFB independence market like I did to purchase the reader
or the stand, or do I have to go through Envision Technology, which is the
only dealer listed for Pennsylvania? They may be perfectly good, but I just
wasn't totally impressed with them when I did talk to them in the very
beginning, so this is why I would like to know this. Also, do I have any
other options, like could I go through HandiTech or someone? I was pretty
impressed with the presentation done by them and would have no qualms about
doing that if it was an option, but from some messages I've seen, I have a
feeling it may not be.

What clinched it for me and why I am really considering the upgrade is my
reader got unplugged again accidentally, and I didn't notice it, and here we
go again, it needs to be recalibrated. Don't worry, I won't trade in a
reader that needs to be recalibrated, as we are taking my parents out to
dinner tomorrow night, and my mom is going to do it for me. She has a PDA
so it will be no problem for her to do it in 5 seconds. Merv just can't see
well enough to do it, since he has only partial vision, so I would like to
not have to worry about this kind of thing, plus the camera and battery can
be a pain to deal with, so thus I am considering the upgrade. I love my
SmartPhone, though, and since you can't browse the Web yet with that phone
and Mobilespeak and I am not shelling out even more money for Talks, I am
just going to use it as the reader, not as a cell phone. I may change my
mind in the future when I am eligible for an upgrade and may just decide to
switch to it, but for now, that's what I'm thinking.

Have a blessed day,

Nicki

Not a big deal, but since Nuance took over Talks, they spell it like it
sounds, not with the X.
