[Reader-users] Question For AT&T Users

I discovered that wayfinder does indeed need internet connection to
function -- I don't understand why, but I do need to subscribe to internet
on the phone in order to use wayfinder. If I had known that I might not
have bought the bundle including wayfinder. But such it goes.

Dear Charles,
G.P.S. should not effect your air time.
It works on receiveing a signal from satellites in orbit. The time it takes
for each signal to reach your phone is measured and the difference in the
time it takes each satellite's signal to reach you is figured out and this
locates your position on the face of the Earth.
It doesn't really use your air time minutes to do this.
I am awaiting the delivery of my KNFB Reader, but already have G.P.S. on my
Braille Note M-Power.
The G.P.S. system operates separate from the cell phone functions.

Does the gps feature of the n82 cost you air time?

Indeed you are correct and I tend to use my phone with wifi for data speed
intensive applications such as browsing Youtube videos, or downloading
podcasts, however I also use a data package from T-mobile to access the web
when I don't have such a connection. The data also allows me to obtain
real-time GPS instructions from Wayfinder Access, which is another
third-party software which works great with the n82.
