[Reader-users] Question For AT&T Users

Dave, one thing that users should be made aware of when looking at the N82
as a phone in the United States, is that AT&T use a non-standard frequency
for 3G, which affords faster data throughput. AT&T uses 850 MHz, while the
N82 only supports 2100 MHz. So while the quad band features certainly apply
to voice, they do not apply to high speed data.

Hopefully a phone with similar specs but supporting US 3G will be available
soon. That said, one can use Edge, and also WiFi of course which will give
excellent data throughput where available.

Jonathan

Hey there Pam,
This phone will work with AT&T service, however, I'm not sure if it would be

covered under the mobile speak licensing deal that you are speaking of. As a

student, I understand that money can be tight and as a blind individual,
money can be even more tight, however, I do support individuals purchasing
software directly from dealers rather than going through the process with
AT&T. For one thing, a lot of individuals have done this in the past, but of

course, AT&T will not give them any kind of technical support, which can be
a bbit of a problem for the dealers who feel oblige to help, but since the
software was not purchased from them, they can't support it. One of the most

valuable features that you purchase along with any software from a direct
dealer is the technical support.
Now to let you know for informational purposes, the Nokia N82 is a unlocked
device, which means that it is possible to use it with any GSM phone
carrier. In America this includes AT&T and T-Mobile. One of the nicer
features of this device is that it is a quad-band phone which means that you

can take it to almost anywhere in the world and use it successfully by
switching out your sim card.
Finally, if you are thinking about purchasing the phone, screen reading
package, and or the reader package, and you have any questions, please feel
free to contact me.
I will of course do my best to lead you in the right direction.

   Best Regards,
   David Wright
