Shannon,
F2 cycles the reader through three primary modes, shooting mode,
document reader mode and user settings mode. When you hear user
settings, use the down arrow until you hear file saving options. From
there, right arrow will show you files save only after long press of f2,
files saved automatically, and files and images saved automatically. I
assume that most of the time you will want to save files only after a
long press of f2, though you may sometimes be instructed to save images
in the event that there is some seeming irregularity in performance or
if you might have any concerns about the quality of the text you are
getting from the reader. Others on this list are much more able to
carry on this discussion than am I though. I simply meant to give some
explanation as to why these three saving options exist. Have fun with
the reader and welcome to the list.

Subject: [Reader-users] saving images
Hi Jim:
Keep in mind I am very new at this. :) Must the images be saved, or can
you set it to only save the text that has been processed? I've explored
the user settings and other settings in the various modes, but I missed
anything to do with saving, or not saving, images.
