Hello. My name is Shannon, and I live in the questionable state of Nevada. <grin> I am 47 and married with two girls, Rachel who is in eighth grade in a magnet school, and Eilish, (rhymes with Stylish), who is 8 and has a chromosomal disorder.
I received my reader yesterday, and have been having way too much fun with it already. I never thought that reading the accountability report for an elementary school where my 8 year old is in an SLD special education room could be so fascinating. Neither did I think it would be as interesting as it was to read all the information I could possibly find on a container whose ingredients I plan to use in preparation of dinner. But it was fascinating and interesting to read them, because I got to do it myself, with the Reader's help of course, and I got to hear just what I wanted to hear, when I wanted to hear it.
I haven't had it for 24 hours yet, but already I was able to read something. It was a real thrill, and I know I am going to enjoy this. I have a lot to learn, so today will be spent with the user's manual and relistening to the tutorial.
