I suspect that people who are not necessarily using a device every day
aren't really aware of the need to keep some of them plugged in when not in
use. In fact, some batteries can be overcharged by leaving the devices
plugged in for extended periods, and so people may fear there may be a
problem if they do so. I know I've been in this camp; and sometimes I get
caught.
I also suppose it depends on the model of device and battery used. I
suppose the best we can do is follow manufacturer's directions; but old
habits are hard to break.
