[Reader-users] Recalibrating the Reader

My friend, Ann, had her reader plugged into an outlet.  Unfortunately, it 
was one which can be turned on or off with a light switch.  She didn't 
realize the switch was not on.  So, the reader, apparently, completely 
discharged.

How difficult is it to recalibrate for a person who is completely computer 
illiterate?  my father is coming to my house, tomorrow, and I'm sure he'd be 
willing to try, but knows nothing about anything more advanced than an 
electric typewriter!
