IMO there is no need for a camera status message at power-up. If the
camera is turned on with the Reader off, you will here the second chime
(the G-major arpeggio) from the Reader -- the one you here when the
camera has been turned on and communication with the Reader begun --
when the Reader is turned on. Moreover, the camera only has something
like a five-minute time-out period before it turns off anyway.Mike
