[Reader-users] A couple of questions

Hi Dexter:

The price of the stand is much higher than I wanted it to be. However, It
is a very specialized design for a single purpose. There will only be a
relatively few made as consumer products go.

We checked on using commercially available camera stands, but nothing was
suitable for the purposes of this reader. We also considered modifying one
style of stand that is commercially available. However, there would have
been several rather complicated adjustments that most people would have
found to be a problem. The commercially available stands are mostly made
for professionals who need to make adjustments to shoot the particular kinds
of pictures they want too take.

In our case, we want a stand that will hold the Reader and still allow the
user to pick it up and take it away easily. We also want a stand that will
allow the Reader to be perfectly aligned to perform its single function as a
reader the first time you place the reader back in the stand.

This explains why we have developed a custom product. Anyone who wants to
do so can go out and buy another kind of commercially available stand and
perhaps save some money. We certainly don't object to that.

Thanks, J. G.
