There are a great many complications in obtaining the right hardware to perform the unique functions of the reader. Pda memory is only one factor.
When new hardware that is right for the reader becomes available we will offer current users a very favorable upgrade path. Waiting will not be an advantage.

Subject: [Reader-users] Reader Hardware Status
I know that the PDA at the heart of the KNFB reader is reasonably current in
terms of CPU speed, but it isn't the largest in terms of memory capacity.
All technology these days has a much shorter lifecycle than in previous years
due to the rapid advances in the field. With that said, do you plan to release
an upgraded version of the reader any time in the near future or will the
current unit remain your offering for awhile. I'd hate to purchase a unit
today only to find that it is replaced by a higher capacity version in a month
or two.
Also, given the memory capacity of the current unit, how much more software
functionality can be added to the current reader?
