Hi Janet:
I believe in one of your earlier messages you directed me to look at page
90. This page does have certain lines crossed out, but much of the text is
not crossed out. The reader read most of the text for me, but would not
read the crossed out text. In the one place I mentioned, between line 17
and line 21, the Reader tried to make about three unintelligible words out
of the crossed out material, and then it went on to the non-crossed out
material beginning on line 21.
As for anything you are doing wrong, I could give you a better idea if you
could either arrange to send me one or more saved images, and/or send me the
hard copy pages. Another alternative would also be to fax the problem pages
to me. The fax number is: (410) 685-5653. I am not sure what we will find
by going through this, but it is certainly worth examining this further.
Finally, if you want to check yourself a bit more, please consider the
following: Try using the field of view report before you take the picture.
You should make sure your Reader is giving you the "portrait orientation
report before you take the picture. I have had no problem reading page 90
of the bill when I have "portrait orientation and 60 percent filled.
Although the rotation shouldn't matter, my pictures have been taken with the
report saying that the Reader is rotated between 1 and 3 degrees
counter-clockwise relative to the page.
If you can achieve the above perameters, your Reader should also read page
90. Perhaps we are talking about an entirely different page, and in that
case I would also be happy to try that one too.

I don't believe that anything was crossed out on the pages that I was
reading. I believe that I was reading only the pages that had new
legislation relating to mental health practice. So, now I am wondering if I
did something wrong with my reader or is there something wrong with my
reader. I tried it at different heights --lower and higher. I tried books
and labels and bills and memos. I just had no luck, and it was very
disillusioning to me.
Probably there is no reason to send a hard copy, and if I had been
wiser, I would have just downloaded via the computer and had the computer
read it to me.
But still, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? Janet
