Hello Terry,
Yes, the price has been dropped, it is $2595.00.
You can go to the website to see a layout of the reader.
It is www.knfbreader.com.
As far as the currency goes, it reads most bills very well.
Lastly, as far as giving a file a name, you probably would want 
to save the file, and then take the cf card and put it in a pc or 
notetaker and change it to the name you wish to give it.
