Hi Folks:

We are really at the final stages of testing to confirm that we won't be
releasing software with problems you will regret having. We are just a bit
"gun-shy," having encountered a huge, unexpected problem just before we had
hoped to do the release in early July. At this point everything appears to
be working as it should.

We have no reason whatsoever to hold the release back other than quality
control. We are not going to sacrifice high standards in order to respond
to expressed demands on the list. I can only promise you that we want the
release to be posted as soon as you do.

Thanks, J. G.

Subject: [Reader-users] Software Upgrade

Hello everyone,
Jim Gashel stated a couple of days ago that the upgrade is expected to be
posted within a couple of days. I suspect that they worked hard to get the
3.8 software ready for the original reader hardware in order to provide it
at the convention. I don't know for sure, but I think they didn't complete
the code differences to handle the other PDA configuration. They will not
post until both configurations are ready but I would expect that this
shouldn't take too long.
I'm sure we're all growing impatient so I hope we receive some good news
soon.
Jim did say that he will post an announcement to this list when the update
is posted to the web.

Regards,
Joe
