[Reader-users] Flash life

Hi Tracy:

I suppose it would be misleading to say that the flash will never wear
out, but it would be equally misleading to say that nothing else in the
hardware will wear out either. As far as we know, the lifespan of the
flash should continue as long as you are apt to be using the camera.
Assuming this is well beyond the warranty period, we will need to
develop a solution for replacement of out-of-date parts. This we will
do, so you won't be left without a Reader. However, just like almost
everything I know of with technology, the same parts or components
really don't last forever. Meanwhile, I am sure you will get all of the
value out of the present components as long as they are working. We
will try to help you in any way we can when they stop.
Thanks, J. G.

Subject: [Reader-users] Flash life

My husband keeps asking me if the flash bulb on the Reader camera is
going to burn out, and what happens then? How long does it last? I
have no idea how to answer him. Jim, do you know the answers?
Thanks.
Tracy
