Don and all:
The only difference in the two styles of Readers is in the PDA used.
The Reader has exactly the same functionality regardless of the A or B
configuration.
The best way to describe the difference is by the layout of the buttons
on the control panel. Readers identified as A have F 1 and F 2
side-by-side on the left of the central arrow box and F 3 and F 4
side-by-side to the right of the central arrow box.
Another distinction is, Readers using the A configuration use a
CompactFlash card for document and file storage and have a separate SD
card slot used for loading software. Readers using the B configuration
only have an SD card slot. In this case it is necessary to remove the
SD file storage card and insert a different SD card to load the Reader
software.
