[Reader-users] Upgrading the Software

Hi J. D.:

All users who purchased the Reader from the NFB automatically receive
upgrades through the mail. They do not have to ask for them. We expect
to send out the next upgrade within a week or so, baring any bugs we
could still find.

I can't speak for the KESI dealers. However, we are creating a download
page on the KNFB Reader.com website. I expect that you will be able to
download your software directly from that page for the next upgrade that
is coming soon.

Thanks, J. G.

Subject: [Reader-users] Upgrading the Software

Hello List:

I love the Reader.
I hate the upgrade process.

It is the most impressive peace of advanced hardware but the upgrade
process is strictly horse and buggy. "One only learns of available
upgrades from this list; one must snail-mail a SD card to the dealer in
order to get the upgrade. my dealer was not even aware that they were
expected to do so.

For the cost of this unit and the upgrade frequency I feel
strongly that service improvements are needed. An improved
upgrade process should be a priority. The NFB or Kurzweil could better
present the unit on the product webpage - perhaps including some MP 3
demonstrations and descriptions. The webpages also should provide
support for current users, such as downloadable upgrades.

Sorry for the lecture -- this is a wonderful unit but it has
inadequate sales and support. JD Townsend
