[Reader-users] Upgrading The Reader: What Card To Use?

James and All:

Kurzweil Educational Systems Inc. (KESI) is not the same as K-NFB Reading
Technology, Inc. (KNFBRTI). KNFBRTI introduced the Kurzweil-National
Federation of the Blind Reader in July, 2006 and sold it through an
exclusive distribution agreement with KESI. That relationship changed in
April, 2007 when KNFBRTI decided to sell directly to dealers, rather than
having all sales coordinated through KESI. This also resulted in a
significant price reduction.

The change described above has also meant that KNFBRTI now provides all of
the technical support for the Reader. Upgrades are available on the
software download page at the KNFBRTI website. Anyone who has not done so
should download and install version 3.8.1. Detailed instructions for doing
this are also available on that page. Help is also available by phone at
our toll-free number--1-877-547-1500.

Please do not hold back on installing the latest upgrade for the reason that
KESI is not around to support this product. The point is that KNFBRTI is
available.

Thanks, J. G.

Does this mean that the reader is no longer available then if Kurzweil
aren't marketing them?
