Mine is loose as well, but if you push it in it usually connects and stays 
fairly well.

I have a minor recurrent problem with my reader. I keep it under my kitchen
table where it is convenient to raise when I want to use it, but the wire
that goes from the transformer to the PDA makes a very loose connection with
the PDA. If I just look at it cross-eyed it pops out and the charge starts
trickling away. A couple of times when I did not need to use it for a couple
days I found it loose and the battery dangerously low. Fortunately I have
not yet had to reboot it.
