[Reader-users] Back on the radar

Hi Roy:
Not to step on Dave's toes, too much, but I do have a suggestion for you.
I am quite sure you are holding the reader much too close to the page. Use
the field of view report and practice until it says "all four edges are
visible. Let's assume you are using a standard 8-1/2 by 11 inch piece of
paper to practice. You should learn the position where the field of view
report tells you that the image is somewhere between 50 and 60 percent full.
It is very hard to get "all four edges visible" if the image is larger than
70 percent.
Try lifting the Reader much higher than you think you should and do your
field of view report. You are more likely to get all four edges visible the
further above the page you are. Then, if you still think you are too far
back, bring the reader straight down when you have an all four edges report,
and do the report again. As long as the report tells you that the image is
larger than 50 percent, there is really no need to get closer than that, as
long as you have all four edges.
You need to experiment with these techniques, and I know you will succeed.
Thanks, J. G.

Hello, Dave:
I can use all the help I can get.
I have the latest update(3.4.81) but I have a problem reading from the top
of the page, although I long press the enter key. It reads me two or three
lines if I am lucky. I know that the page has several hundred words on the
page, for my wife says the page is full. I turn on view finder and I press
up arrow to where it says, " please maintain your position and so on. It
also says that top and bottom edges are visible.
Please let me know if I can phone you sometime to night or Sunday.
Thanks,
Roy Dubriel

Hello All,
I'm once again available to answer questions concerning the KNFB reader. I
was off list for a bit as I did not have internet. Please feel to write me
off-list, or give me a call with your questions.
