Actually, the base is like a horse shoe. I mean it is open on the side
closest to you and the arm that holds the camera extends from the side
away from you. This allows you to slide an item between the 2 side legs
and have it right under the camera.

Hi -- it comes in 2 pieces--the base, which has joints but unfolds to a
rectangle.
Then there is a second piece, one end of which has a section that fits
snugly into a little socket in the back of the base. Then you adjust
the
top of the verticle section which contains a little rectangular holder
for
the reader.
It is all very sturdy, and when the reader is laid in the holder, the
camera
pointing down toward the middle of the base section, the camera should
be
about 16 inches from the page you put under it.
I had to fiddle a minute or 2 to figure out what the 2 pieces of the
stand
were supposed to do, but once it is set up, it is very accurate and you
don't have to worry about holding the camera while it takes a picture.

Hi all. Can someone please describe how does the stand work?
What is the shape of it? How does it make scanning easier?
Thanks for responses.
