Laura and all, It is our extensive experience that the camera battery will not be dammaged by Leaving it in the charger and plugged in for essentially any amount of time. It is not necessary to limit the recharging time
Thanks, J. G.

Hi James -- I thought I read in the manual that the camera battery shouldn't
be left in the charger more than a few hours. Is that not true? It would be
nice not to have to worry about leaving it there. The camera battery seems
to last a long time for me--have others found that as well?

Hi Alco, you should report the possibly defective camera battery to your
dealer. A replacement, if you need one, will be provided under your
waranty.
Leaving the extra battery in the charger plugged in continuously is ok. If
you or someone can see the indicator lights on the charger the green light
indicates a fully charged battery. The fully charged battery should then
activate the camera just fine.
Thanks, J. G.

I received the additional camera battery and charged it for ninety minutes.
However, when I changed batteries, the camera would not turn on, leading me
to believe that the battery is defective or the charger is defective or
both. I know I installed the battery correctly because when I changed to
the original which came in the device, the camera turned on just fine.
I know there is only one way to put the battery in the charger, so I would
appreciate any information you can provide re this.
Just got the reader yesterday and it has great potential, though the
processing is very very slow.
