Hi, David,
I just got my reader yesterday, so am still new at "aiming". The accuracy
varies a great deal. I too have better luck on a table. Also remember that
you have to have enough light in the room as well. Make sure you have a
fully-charged camera battery. That may help with accuracy. In the manual,
it says that 14 point font size scans more accurately than smaller fonts.
You also have to remember that text varies a lot too.
I use that "view report" which is the up arrow key in "shooting" mode. It
tells you how visible the text is.
