In order to take a picture you always need to be in shooting mode. Press f2 to go back to shooting mode after you have set the reader to multiple paging.

I did what you said: I went to document reader; pressed down arrow twice and
right arrow to multiple pages. However, I hit down arrow to take a picture,
it said "voice speed and I hit up arrow, it said read by line,or word or

You can take the next picture as soon as as reading begins and processing
has finished without waiting for all the page to be spoken.
