Kathy and All:

At present we are moving through a transition.  In my new
responsibilities with K-NFB Reading Technology, Inc. I expect to be even
more active on this list than I have been in the last year.  I will also
be in a better position to insure that all users of the Reader receive
high quality tech support.  So, I hope you will view this change as a
very good thing for the Reader.  All I can say is that I am looking
forward to being put to the test, and I promise I will do everything in
my power to keep the Readers working to the extent of their capability.

It looks as though we are needing some technical support from national.
Does anyone know if Jim Gashel will not be actively participating on
this list now that he has taken a new position?

I am having the same problems as well.  I have sighted assistance to do
the tapping. After a significant amount of time the screen gos blank and
that is it. .  I have tried this several times with the same results.

Well you got further than I did, because someone pulled out the cord on
me, and we plugged it back in and brought in sighted assistance, but it
never came on for him to even do the tapping, etc.  Meant to write about
this sooner and actually meant to call, because I am having another
issue with software not installing, but things have gotten ahead of me
with work.

        HI, Just a idea for the reader. As long as the reader tells you
what the PDA battery  state is at start up why not also have it  tell
what the camera battery is at the same time???
