Good evening everyone,
This evening I was delighted to discover that there is now a video on
the NFB Web Site that discusses the KNFB Reader. If you asked me this is
long over-due. You can view the video at:
http://www.nfb.org/nfb/Audio-Video_Center.asp?SnID=18257712088
In addition to finding the link to this video in the NFB's audio/video
center I expected to find it on the KNFB Reader page as well to allow
someone to view it directly from that page. Secondly while the video is
well-done and the statements by Dr. Maurer and Dwight Sayer about the reader
make the case I was disappointed to discover that it does not include an
actual demonstration of the reader one can hear in addition to viewing and
listening to the video's other content. Several state affiliates including
the NFB of Tennessee have KNFB Reader audio demos on their Web Sites. It
seems like we should have one on our national site as well. I'm wondering if
Jim knows if an additional audio or video presentation will be produce for
our national site that includes an actual demonstration of the reader, or if
additional video and audio presentations will be produced which include such
a demo. If anyone has viewed the videos on our new Web site, particular the
Jobline, and HAVA Videos and heard the audio presentation of NFB Newsline
you will observe that they all include working demos of these products. By
the way Jim your demonstration of the reader during this year's Celebration
and those you've done during the national conventions are outstanding. We
just need to have one of them on our national Web Site in addition to the
KNFB Reader video presentation now available in the audio/video center.
Otherwise congratulations for a job well-done.
