Hello Marci Et Al,
I am so, so so sorry that this kind of crap is still happening in our
country today, and no more no less, but our elected officials! Yes, this
kind of behavior must stop instantly.
I am going to share on my social networks, LinkedIn and FB, and I will
make sure that this gets spread out to the universe.
It makes me question whether the efforts of the NFB and other consumer
advocacy orgs are really working. This seems like a complete step back.
I don't really understand how people in the country are really like
sometimes. This is sad, and honestly, a betrayal over the progress that
has been fought for and hard won over the years especially with the kind
of civil rights laws that our federal Congress has passed over the years.
When will people with disabilities and those who are blind be given the
full dignity we deserve?
I'm sure many of us now know, given the political situation and mess
this country is in now. I, quite frankly, am not at all surprised this
would be happenning any time soon. What a pain. andn what a shame!
And I'm sorry that we all have to live through this s****y comportment
our public officials, and public at large, because it seems like at
least to me, the general public elected these people who mocked the
expert whitness!
Now, let's go live the lives we wants, and let's go build the National
Federation of the Blind of Washington, and let's put an end to this
incompetent treatment of Blind people!

Below is our national statement about this in a press release. We must stand united against such horrible, stereotyped treatment of blind people by elected officials and media outlets!
