I believe I saw the announcement about the Evergreen Radio Reading Service before you forwarded it, Debbi. Perhaps it was in the WTTBL's last newsletter. This is an issue that was discussed a couple years ago or more.

I just received this from Danielle Miller and received permission to forward. This action was taken without PAC knowledge, which I find a little irritating, despite her explanation. Guess I'm a cynic, I think people knew about this but didn't want to deal
with any negative response. Debby

Hi, PAC - most people have been informed about ERRS and I just sent a message to our listserv. At this point, you are welcome to share this information - the message is below. As I mentioned before, this decision was not in the works at our last PAC meeting. Thank you, Danielle

As some of you may know, the Evergreen Radio Reading Service
(ERRS) lost its funding at the end of 2011, and has since been operating in a severely diminished capacity. The closure of ERRS is a great loss to the community and Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (WTBBL) patrons, however it has become extremely difficult to keep the station operating without funding and staffing.

On August 15, ERRS will cease broadcast so that resources can be directed to the rest of WTBBL patron services.

Please contact the library to get more information on NLS magazines
(http://www.loc.gov/nls/reference/circulars/magazines.html) and NFB Newsline (http://nfbnewslineonline.org/) to meet your timely information needs.

If you have questions, please call Danielle or David at (800) 542-0866.
