I've never actually used them; I always got my ticket at the counter or
ahead-of-time. But others have told me that they were useable.

Becky sits back in her seat, what?!

Mike says:
" the machines at AMTRAK stations where you can generate a ticket if you
wish have been accessible to the blind for many years"

Say what? Knowone told me and I have called and written letters to ambtrack
complaining that the machines at the stations were not accessible. Know one
ever told me they were or how to access them.

So Mike how about a primer on how to use them.

The trick is to get Congress to provide sufficient funds to allow increases
in service.

Note well, however, that this article -- however meritorious -- largely
focuses on *physical* access. And this goes to show why we don't often join
disability coalitions. For, paradoxically, AMTRAK has one of the best
automated ticketing services -- Julie -- and it's been around for years and
always *has* worked better than the majority of these services. And the
machines at AMTRAK stations where you can generate a ticket if you wish have
been accessible to the blind for many years. Put *that* in your airport
kiosk and smoke it!

Wow, that's crazy that you had to go to Portland to go to Pasco.
Wow! How strange is that! I really wish that Amtrak had better schedules. I
love to ride the train more than flying, but leaving SPOKANE at 1 in the
morning to go anywhere is pretty
awful. Peace, Debby
