[nfbwatlk] ACB Resolution

Holy crap! That's crazy! For an organization that claims to be more
democratic than the Federation, i'm suprised that Robert's Rules were
not observed calling for discussion, and it's not like they waited a
terribly long time for someone to get to a mic to recommend a do pass.
And recommending a do pass (or asking for such a recommendation) is not
the same as having discussion is it? Maybe it is in ACB parlance, i don't know.

But what I do know is that Michael Byington is a traditional mobility
instructor who, to be honest with you, strikes me as a high and mighty
partial.. In other words, I'm thinking there's some bias on his part as
a subject matter expert. I also find it interesting that it was pointed
out that NFB pushed the legislation to begin with. And finally, is the
man correct that 100% of NIB employees are paid at least minimum wage?
Or at least, the primarily blind ones anyway? Frankly, if I were an ACB
member with multiple disabilities, I'd be pissed at that guy for saying
that, in affect, blind folks with other disabilities really don't
matter. But I'm willing to bet there are some blind folks out there not
getting paid minimum wage.

You're right Mike. This is just sad. I'm really disappointed in the ACB
convention for not passing this resolution.

Respectfully,
Jedi
