Just now catching up on my E-mail. Wow! That's great. I once thought it would be cool to do something like that, but don't know any more. Kaye talked about being way out of her comfort zone. I think so too.
Anyway, congratulations on doing something you've wanted to do for a long time. guess that was part of your bucket list, huh? What's next. I'll be glad to *watch*. (grin.)

Subject: [nfbwatlk] WHOW!!! WHAT A THRIL...
ON AUGUST 24th I WAS ABLE TO DO SOMETHING I HAVE WANTED TO DO FOR MOST OF MY LIFE. I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO SKY DIVE BUT THE OPPORTUNITY OR THE MONEY NEVER SEEMED TO BE THERE AT THE TIME.
THAT ALL CHANGED WHEN ONE OF THE VISION LOSS CENTER BOARD MEMBERS SENT ME A EMAIL ABOUT A LOCAL FIRST TIME SKY DIVING EVENT COMING TO PORT ANGELES. I WAS EXCITED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY UNTIL I SAW THE PRICE AND ONCE AGAIN I WAS OUT. I REPLIED TO DEB AND TOLD HER THAT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DO THIS WITH HER AND HER FRIENDS DO TO FINANCES, BUT THAT DID NOT STOP HER AND SHE PROCEEDED TO TALK WITH THE VISION LOSS CENTER VOLUNTEERS AND THEY CHIPPED IN TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. WHEN SHE TOLD ME WHAT HAD TAKEN PLACE, I HAD AN INCREDIBLE WARM FEELING COME OVER ME AND I WAS LOCKED INTO DOING IT. WHAT A WONDERFUL GIFT TO RECEIVE.
A LOT OF DOUBTS AND FEARS STARTED TO CREEP INTO MY HEAD S THIS WAS A UNKNOWN EXPERIENCE TO ME. BUT. I WAS DETERMINED TO GO THROUGH WITH IT. CONTINUALLY THINKING ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN IN A FEW DAYS AND HOW I WOULD HANDLE IT MADE FOR A LOT OF DOUBTS ABOUT MY LACK OF VISION.
THE DAY OF THE DIVE I WAS AT WORK THINKING ABOUT WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN THAT EVENING AND made it hard to think of anything else but how I could do this without being able to see things like the edge of the plane Flore leading to the exit and how was I to land...
all these fears were in my head and with the guidance of the dive partner and friends it worked out perfectly and was the thrill of my life to this point.
YES I WILL DO IT AGAIN AND THIS WAS THE EXPERIENCE I NEEDED TO GET CHARGED UP AGAIN FOR LIFE AND TIT'S CONTINUING CHALLENGES.
I THANK ALL AT THE VISION LOSS CENTER FOR PROVIDING THIS OPPORTUNITY TO ME AND I AM
FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR THERE SUPPORT.
LIFE GIVES US CHANCES AND WE NEED ONLY TAKE ADVANTAGE WHEN POSSIBLE...
