Well, Mike, since there ain't much of your vision left, we should remember, that October is in actuality "meet the blind month", and we'll put a positive face on something the "fighting blindness foundation" has depicted as a tragedy to make lots of money.  (grin.)  It probably has some good programs, but I'm unaware of any.

That having been said, I agree with the sentiment that if one has some vision, one should protect his/her eyes.  It makes complete sense, and as our NFB presidents have all said, in a perfect world, we'd all be perfect, including having sight. But since we're not, we can help by demonstrating that blindness need not be a tragedy by going out and educating the rest of the public.
