Hi Julie,

I Leave mine plugged in for about three to four hours.

If you read the user guide, it will tell you that it doesn't hurt too leave it plugged in. It will also talk about the battery and how to use it.

Thank you for those that answered my question about the digital recorder.  I was just wondering if it had to be plugged in for a certain number of hours to build the battery back up.  Of course, I understand you plug it in.  I was a bit shocked at the one sarcastic reply I did receive.  I have to say that response will really make me think twice before I post anything more to this listserve.
