Hernandez, 24, becomes the second Mariners pitcher in club history to earn the prestigious honor, joining Randy Johnson in 1995. Hernandez went 13-12 and led the AL with a club-record 2.27 ERA in 32 starts in 2010. He also led the league with 30 quality starts, 249.2 innings pitched and a .212 opponent batting average, and ranked 2nd with 232 strikeouts. He became the first AL pitcher since Bret Saberhagen in 1989 to record 30 quality starts in a season.
