Hi there,

My name is Shiri and I am a PhD student in computer science at the
University of Washington. My research is in accessibility.

I am looking for volunteers to participate in a study for technology that
aims to make public transit more usable for deaf-blind people. You do NOT
have to be deaf-blind; the only requirement is that you read Braille and
have a Braille notetaker.

The study will take about 2 hours, during which we will take a few short bus
rides and conduct an interview. The purpose of the study is to evaluate an
application that we developed for a G1 phone that interacts with a Braille
notetaker. The application provides information about the user's current
location, real-time bus arrival information, and enables the user to post a
message onto the screen of the phone from the Braille notetaker (useful if
the user is deaf-blind).

Please let me know if you are interested and if you are available Monday or
Tuesday afternoon or evening.

To thank study participants, we are offering a $40 gift certificate to QFC.

If you have any questions, please email me: shiri.azenkot at gmail.com.

Thank you!
shiri
