Comment on proposed transit service changes

Voter approval of the Sound Transit 2 ballot measure last November provided
for expanded ST Express service throughout the region. Initial service
additions came in June and September of this year. February 2010 will bring
expanded service in Pierce and South King counties, including a new
full-time express bus route between Federal Way and Seattle, along with new
midday express bus service between Seattle, Auburn, Sumner and Puyallup.

We're now planning for further service additions proposed to begin in
September 2010 and February 2011. Proposed are a new Redmond-University
District route and expanded rush-hour service using 37 new buses on existing
routes serving Snohomish and East King counties.

an open house next Thursday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at University Heights
Center, Room 107, 5031 University Way N.E. in Seattle. We also invite your
comments online or at a public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 11:30 a.m.
at Sound Transit headquarters in Union Station, 401 S. Jackson St., Seattle.

Ride the Wave to Nov. 8 Seahawks game

Seahawks fans headed to the game vs. the Detroit Lions on Sun., Nov. 8, can
get there quickly and easily by taking special Sounder service. Three trains
will serve the south line communities between Tacoma and Seattle, with
another two serving the north line between Everett and Seattle. Inbound
trains leave between 10:05 and 10:45 a.m., arriving at King Street Station
in plenty of time to walk to nearby Qwest Field before kickoff. Return
trains leave between 10 and 40 minutes after the game ends so you won't miss
a thing.

ST Express buses, serving most cities in the region, also can get you there
- as can Link light rail. For schedule and fare information, visit

East Link public workshop in Bellevue

If you live or work on the Eastside, you may want to mark your calendar for
Wednesday, Nov. 18. That's when you can learn more about the downtown
Bellevue preferred route and stations, as well as the tunnel alternatives,
and provide comments about how East Link can best serve you. The workshop
will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. (with a presentation at 5 p.m.) at Bellevue
City Hall, 450 110th Ave. N.E. Learn more at www.soundtransit.org/eastlink
