Here are some cleaning tips for those of you who purchase Commemorative Coins from Dick Davis of Blind, Inc. who I believe also collects coins himself.

Hi,
I just took a look at the coin that our state president got. It's one of the uncirculated ones with the new slightly frosted finish that keeps finger marks from showing up. You still should wash it with a lint free cotton cloth, water. and a little dish soap to get the finger oils off after handling it. Otherwise, they'll etch the silver. Pat it dry with a clean cloth, don't rub it as you will put tiny scratch marks on it that will reduce its value. You can get inside the plastic case by prying it apart at one of the edges with a knife or sharp screwdriver. Since the case is airtight, it will take a little work to get it to separate. Take your time.
