Some of the new features in Jaws 10 Update 1 are:

JAWS 10 for 64-bit Windows Vista

it's becoming more common for computers to have a 64 bit version of
Windows Vista installed instead of the 32 bit. Jaws now fully supports
all versions of Vista 64.

Multiple Soundcard Support

You can have more than 1 sound card connected to your computer. Jaws
will let you switch between these on the fly and will remember the
choice you made next time you start it.

Updated keystroke for PlaceMarkers

Since PlaceMarkers were introduced Control K was used to create a
temporary one. This keystroke conflicts with one introduced in Internet
Explorer 8. The new keystroke for Temporary PlaceMarkers is Control
Windows K.

For more information about the features in Jaws 10 and Jaws 10 Update 1
go to http://www.freedomscientific.com/downloads/jaws/JAWS-whats-new.asp

There are 2 ways you can download the new Jaws 10 Update 1:

* The Check For Updates Feature

Press Jaws Key +J.

1. If Jaws says something like "jaws context menu" then you have it set
up to display in the System Tray. Press H to go to the help menu. Now
skip to step 3.

2. If when you press the above keystroke Jaws just says "Jaws then you
have landed in the Jaws window. Press Alt H to go to the help menu.

3. Up arrow until you here "check for updates" and press enter. After a
few seconds you should come up with a list of available updates. One of
these will be for Jaws 10.0.1139. Press the Space bar on this to check
it and tab to the Install button. Press space and the update process
will begin.

* Download the update and install manually

You can download a full copy of the new Jaws update. I recommend you do
this if you can rather than use the update feature. The main reason for
this is if you ever need to reinstall Jaws you can do it directly from
this file. You don't need to install your original Jaws first then
perform the update. This file can be saved to a flash drive or onto a
CD.
