I had a long talk with Patt last evening. I guess they are doing a scleral buckle. It's her bad eye but it still has a bit of vision so I think she wants to save it if she can.
I am so glad that all of my difficulties re vision happened when I was little. I can't imagine going through all those surgeries like Alise and Patt. From where I sit, it doesn't seem worth it. But who am I to judge?
When "Jedi" grows up, I think she will have some good contributions to make. But she uses her "blindness" selectively, waiting for some attractive partial guy to show up. She really dumped on this jal who came to our convention who had ocular albinism. I took that lady out to lunch, and she told me that she didn't feel that she fit. I told her not to worry, to do what she felt best and I apologized for Jedi. When I came back, I told Gary that Jedi was the best friend The Council ever had. Of course with her sight she slid around to hear what was said and then burst into dramatic tears. It was almost a Barbara Freeman moment.
Well, the woman did what she thought best. She joined neither organization
